Some basic hair care can go a long way. You should always cover your hair with a scarf when you go out in sun. Avoid using hair dryer regularly; it may damage your hair. Eat lots of fruits, green vegetables and drink lots of water. This is not only important for having a healthy body but also essential for good hair. Avoid combing on your wet hair and always use wide toothed comb.

Try to use natural conditioners as much as possible rather than using harsh chemical products. If using store bought shampoo & conditioner, please always buy a good branded product. Avoid hair straightening if your hair is curly and do not perm your hair if it is straight. It might lead to hair damage. Always use mild shampoo for your hair. Avoid colouring your hair with artificial colours unless necessary. Do not iron your hair. Frequent ironing may cause damage to your hair. Loving your natural hair is the best way to stay away from hair fall and damage.

Here are some simple but great remedies for getting soft, smooth and silky hair. Try these tips mentioned below and find out which one works best for your hair.

coconut oil:
Coconut oil is one of the best natural nutrition for hair. It helps in healthy growth of hair providing them a shiny complexion. Regular massage of the head with coconut oil ensures that your scalp is free of dandruff, lice, and lice eggs, even if your scalp is dry. Coconut oil is extensively used in the Indian sub-continent for hair care. It is an excellent conditioner and helps in the re-growth of damaged hair. It also provides the essential proteins required for nourishing damaged hair. It is therefore used as hair care oil and used in manufacturing various conditioners, and dandruff relief creams. Coconut oil is normally applied topically for hair care.

Skin Care:

Coconut oil is excellent massage oil for the skin as well. It acts as an effective moisturizer on all types of skins including dry skin. The benefit of coconut oil on the skin is comparable to that of mineral oil. Further, unlike mineral oil, there is no chance of having any adverse side effects on the skin with the application of coconut oil. Coconut oil therefore is a safe solution for preventing dryness and flaking of skin. It also delays wrinkles, and sagging of skin which normally become prominent with age. Coconut oil also helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin infections. Therefore coconut oil forms the basic ingredient of various body care products such as soaps, lotions, creams, etc., used for skin care. Coconut oil also helps in preventing premature aging and degenerative diseases due to its antioxidant properties.

Castor Oil

1. Castor Oil cures acne

The ricinoleic acid in castor oil works to inhibit many viruses and bacteria, and as castor oil is able to penetrate skin tissue deeply, this makes it an effective treatment for acne.

To treat acne, dab a hot damp washcloth all over your face in the evening before you go to bed. The heat will gently open the pores on your face. After this, massage a little castor oil gently into the skin. Leave on overnight. Repeat this daily for 1 to 2 weeks to see results. You can also repeat this twice in the day, once at night and once in the morning.

2. Castor Oil keeps the skin looking smooth, youthful and unlined

Castor oil’s ability to penetrate more deeply than any other essential plant oil make it an excellent way to keep skin looking youthful and fresh. Castor oil works better than any store-bought anti-ageing creams.

One of the best and easiest ways to use castor oil is to rub in a small amount around your eyes before bed, washing it off the next morning.

You can also rub in castor oil all over your face, but as it’s extremely thick and sticky, use sparingly. A little goes a long way! You can rinse this off after 2-3 hours, but you can always keep it on for longer if you feel comfortable. This type of all-over application might feel more uncomfortable in hotter and more humid climates. Thus, cooler days/nights or fall/winter may be better for castor oil mask applications.

Done daily, this will keep wrinkles at bay and the skin looking fresh, youthful and supple. With consistent use over a few months, this can also help to fade old dark marks left over from pimples/spots.

Side Effects of Castor Oil

Castor oil, when used in moderation and in small doses, is perfectly safe to use. Applying too much of it on the skin or hair can lead to excessively oily skin and sticky hair. More precaution is required when the users are pregnant, lactating, or menstruating, and especially when the castor oil is intended to be ingested. Too much intake can lead to serious castor oil side effects such as vomiting, diarrhoea, and even poisoning. For pregnant, lactating, and menstruating women, it is better to consult a doctor first before using this organic remedy.

Enjoy the different kinds of castor oil benefits in order to have a healthier lifestyle that does not count on modern-day drugs and medicine. Male or female, young or old, everyone can save a lot of money when castor oil is used or applied wisely. As long as precautions limit one’s use of castor oil, the many castor oil benefits will not only be rewarding financially, but more importantly, physically

he start of the new year is a time for self-improvement and the opportunity for a clean slate. What better way, then, to usher in a new you than with better hair? Come on, who doesn’t wish their hair could be shinier, softer, fuller? Well, better hair isn’t just a matter of a good haircut or great shampoo. It’s also the right tools. We rounded up some of the best hairstylists in the business and asked them for their favorite tools—their blow-dryer, their brush, and the products they use the most. Take a look what these pros can’t live without.

Mark Townsendcelebrity hairstylist, Sally Hershberger Downtown in New York City
Valecta Paramount Paris TGR 3600. “I just discovered this dryer a year ago and I cannot live without it now. It has the option to turn the ionic function on or off, which is fantastic because when I want the hair to be shiny and sleek I turn the ionic on, but if I want lots of volume I turn it off. It also has adjustable heat settings and a cool button.”
Spornette Porcupine Brushes. “These are mixed bristle round brushes. I’ve used them for all my blow outs for the past ten years, and some of them I think I’ve even had for that long, too—they last forever! The longer white plastic bristles pick up the hair from the scalp for volume and the shorter black natural bristles are for getting the hair sleek and shiny. It’s the best of both worlds.”

Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Cream. “This is loaded with coconut and almond oils,” says Townsend, who consults for Dove. “The cream smooths and keeps the hair frizz-free, giving it amazing shine and texture. It’s like having a leave-in conditioner and styling product in one.”

GarrenGarren New York salon
Ionic Twin Turbo 3800. “This is my favorite hair dryer because it will not burn the hair and prevents damage that other dryers may do.”
Spornette 25 International Porcupine Oval. “It’s a good all around choice for every type of hair.”
Garren New York Designing Spray Tonic. “I find I use this product a lot of the time because it’s lightweight, alcohol free, and a great styling product that adds memory to the hair. Plus, it’s versatile—you can use it on wet or dry hair.”

Rodney Cutler celebrity hairstylist, Cutler Salons in New York City and Miami
Twin Turbo 3200. “This dryer boasts a huge amount of power. It also has a thin nozzle, which is critical for steering air direction, in turn helping to optimize styling time, achieve the right style you want, and to avoid fly-aways.”
YS Park. “This is a flat brush that is similar to the traditional popular Mason Pearson brushes, but it has longer prongs, which is great for brushing and blow-drying with tension.”
Redken Power Grip 03 Mattifying Hair Powder. “This product is genius—it creates maximum hold and volume, yet is so lightweight that it feels like there’s nothing in your hair,” says Cutler, who works for Redken. “The result is this larger-than-life texture that I could normally only create for my clients by layering in both a volumizing product and a hair spray. It’s the perfect solution, whether you’re trying to achieve beachy texture and separation, or build the base for a long-lasting updo, and yet it’s easy to apply at home or on-the-go.”

Adir Abergelcelebrity hairstylist, Frédéric Fekkai Salon in Los Angeles
Elchim Hair Dryer. “I like it because it tends to blow hard air, which I prefer over many of the new tourmaline dryers, which blow softer air. The Elchim makes hair look fuller and sexier.”
Ibiza Round Brush. “I think this is the best quality in boar bristle brushes. I love the combination of boar and nylon, which gives the hair shine and traction. I also like the cork handle because it makes the brush a lot lighter to handle.”
Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray. “I love this product because it has the best memory and flexibility of any hair spray I’ve ever used.”
Sarah PotempaAussie celebrity stylist
HANAair Professional Blowdryer. “This blow-dryer is super lightweight and really quiet, and whether I’m using it on myself or a client, it’s always fast and easy.”
Mason Pearson. “The classic combination of boar and nylon bristles makes this the best styling brush ever!”

Aussie Anti-Frizz Cream. “This product does everything that I need to have gorgeous, shiny hair. I use it before curling, to get rid of frizz, or to make a super clean, shiny ponytail. I love that it is lightweight and water-based, which means defrizzing without weighing the hair down.”

Tommy BuckettMarie Robinson salon in New York City
Sedu Prive Dryer. “I love this—it dries hair in half the time and really changes how the hair feels afterwards.”
Creative Brushes. “These have a ceramic core so as you’re drying the hair you can also set it without any burning, which then means less damage and dry-out.”
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. “Whether your hair needs to be washed or just needs a little texture, this stuff works for everything. I use it when I’m pinning the hair up, or just making it bigger. I feel it gives hair a really

How to Spot FakeCosmetics

How to Spot Fake NARS Cosmetics

  • Nars does not make three pan palettes. (Although I just saw trio palettes on Nars website)
  • Nars never writes their name on their products.
  • Be careful for different names on the duos you purchase as well as numbers on the back in circles. Please make sure that the seller gives a name to the duos. ALL duos have names, not numbers. If they can’t give you a name or there isn’t one in their auction, beware. This auction didn’t have a name to any of their duos listed.
  • Also, go to a site that sells nars such as or and do research on the color you are buying. I have seen colors on here that nars doesn’t even make. If you find  a bohemian gold duo here on Ebay, make sure that the color of the duo you want to purchase is the same as on the sephora or the nars website.

How to Spot Fake Bobbi Brown Cosmetics

  • Genuine Bobbi Brown palettes always have proper B.B. brushes with their logo! Fake palettes have these plain black, cheap sponge applicators.
  • Authentic B.Brown palettes always have proper names on the box such as surf & sand, pink raspberry & mauve face. The fake palettes DON’T have these names just some madeup title such as 12 colours eyeshadow palette or Eyeshadows Palette 12colour shimmer 02!
  • Authentic B.B palettes, will always have on the back of the box proper names of the shades such as bare, nude, buff, cocoa.. Fakes will have :brown, gold, copper etc you get my meaning! Always ask the seller prior to bidding about the EXACT names of these shades!
  • the box of the product says it is made in Italy but the label on the actual product says it is made in Canada.
  • The label on the product says the name of the product is Long-Wear Cream Shadow whereas on the box it says Fluidline Eye Liner Gel.
  • The label on the product says the color is BURNISHED but when I checked on bobbi brown official website, ‘Burnished’ is a bronzed brown color instead of Black

Below is the correct logo of MAC.. if you compare both the logos you will not find any difference.

How To Choose The Right Bronzer

How To Choose the Right Bronzer For Your Complexion?

If you are looking for some general tips on how to choose the right bronzing powder / cream  based on the skin tone you have, here they are:

  • Well, if you are a dark skinned beauty, go for darker shades like chocolate color. Amber tones and tawny hues also look great! But make sure, that you do not end up choosing too much dark shades as it might look muddy.

  • In case you are fair-skinned, you would look good with peach, rose, honey tones and beige-brown shades.
  • Do you have a pinkish skin tone? In that case, go for a bronzer with a touch of pink or cinnamon.
  • Shades of brown and matte gold go with almost every complexion type.

How To Choose The Right Bronzer – Basic Tips:

How to apply bronzer

  • When you are choosing a bronzer, go for a shade which is one or two shades darker than your original skin tone.
  • Always look into the predominant color as far as our makeup shades are concerned. For instance, if you are more into neutral colors, invest in a bronzer of earthy shade. Or say you have loads of peaches and corals, perhaps a peach-colored bronzer would look best!
  • Season changes and so should our dresses and makeup! It is common for us to see that our skin gets tanned in the scorching heat of summers; go for a dark shade of bronzer in those times.

How To Choose The Right Bronzer Based on Skin Type?

We all have different kinds of skin, ranging from the oily acne prone to the excessive dry type. Here are some tips for you to choose the right bronzer based on skin type:
• In case you have a dry skin, go for a creamy bronzer.
• If you have an acne-prone skin with oily zones everywhere, go for powder bronzer.
• For a combination skin, gel bronzers work best.
**Liquid bronzers are generally either cream base or gel based. Hence, choose wisely.

Thus, when you choose a bronzer for your skin, you just have to keep a few things in mind. With so many brands and shades to choose from, it is difficult to decide on a particular shade. Your complexion, skin type and makeup shades often play a determining role while you pick a bronzer. It is always a good idea to check in to a shop that allows you to try out from one of those trial packs so that you know how a particular bronzer looks on your skin. Use the back of your hand to see how well it blends. You can also carry the lipstick and eye shadow in the shades you use them most to match your bronzer with them. And last, but not the least, go for a shade which is a bit darker as compared to your skin tone.
