To create the ultimate glow under your brow, stroke on some of Benefit’s high brow under your eyebrow and blend with your fingertips.  Then press on the Makeup Forever Star Dust Powder with an eye shadow brush for an amazingly bright glow.  Perfect for an evening look.

Do you want to know how to mimic the perfect tan with makeup?  A must try this summer is Chanel Bronzing Base blended with Guerlain’s Terracotta Bronzer.  Both are incredibly natural looking bronze products that look exceptionally beautiful together: definitely the secret to becoming a bronze goddess this summer.

Glowing skin is one of the key factors to looking youthful.  I absolutely love using Pond’s Gold Radiance Day cream to prep the skin before applying my foundation.  Because Pond’s Gold Radiance contains 99% real gold particles it just looks incredible under foundation.  You have to see it to believe it.  Pair it with Mac’s Tint Foundation for a natural “no foundation” look with an undeniable glow!

Hot pink lips are a perfect way to celebrate summer this year.  For the most lusciously hot lips – pair Chanel Allure Velvet Lipstick #37 with Mac’s New Kissable Lipcolor in Scan-delicious. Together this combo is soft and sexy, yet beautiful!

To make your lashes ones that others can’t help but notice prep your lashes with Dior’s lash primer and then add a couple coats of Benefits They’re Real Mascara.  Individually, both make the lashes longer and thicker but together they leave the lashes unforgettable.  A must try.

Dior’s Lash Primer with Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara

What I used:
– UDPP Primer Potion
– MUFE Flash Color Pot in “White” all over lid
– MAC “Vanilla” pigment all over the lid and highlight
– MAC eyeshadow in “Electric Eel”
– Milani eyeshadow in “Blue Ice”
– Sephora Blending Brush
– Sponge-tipped applicator

STEP 1: Apply your eye primer of choice (UDPP, Paint Pot, etc.), using an eye primer makes your eyeshadow(s) more vibrant and it lasts longer!

STEP 2: (optional) I used MUFE Flash Color in White as an all over base color.

STEP 3: I then took MAC’s Vanilla pigment and with my crease brush, took a little pigment from the jar cap and applied it all over my lid, concentrating more of the pigment on the highlight area.

STEP 4: Using your brush or sponge-tipped applicator (I love the control and vibrancy sponge-tipped applicators give), apply your light colored eyeshadow first on your lid, in this case MAC’s e/s in “Electric Eel”. ***Remember blending is similar to the gradient effect where it’s light to dark.

It will look like this BEFORE blending:

STEP 5: Then apply the next color, in this tutorial I chose Milani e/s in “Blue Ice”, and apply it on your outer-V, crease, and contour or wherever you’d like.

This is how it will look like BEFORE blending:

BLEND BOTH colors together…apply more eyeshadow if needed in case you blend too much that it lightens the color, including highlighting color.

STEP 6: Line your lower lashline and apply eyeliner and mascara (optional). I DID NOT use eyeliner in this tutorial to show more detail.

And this is how it looks like completed, AFTER BLENDING!

1. I first started by applying a moisturizer (you can use a primer too, but I wanted to moisturize under my eyes a bit), I used my Borghese Curaforte Moisturizer, and applied a tiny bit and patted it under my eye area. This helps smooth the under eye area for easier application and prevents dry patches. Let it dry and seep in before applying the neutralizer (salmon color) to avoid patches of color.

2. Using a brush or a warm finger (using a warm finger helps to soften solid creams like the Ben Nye Concealer Wheel), I applied the salmon color (start small and build if necessary), starting at the inner corner and angled it down a bit, as this is the darkest part for me, and then blend the edges and pat, you don’t want to apply the color immediately under the eye so it won’t be so cakey, so you wanna gently pat the color on, out, and in. **For makeup artists or for sanitary purposes, you can also use a spatula to scoop out a little bit onto your hand and dip from there.

3. Using a brush or warm finger, apply your concealer by gently patting the color into the neutralizer and blending outer edges.

4. Lastly, set it by using a finishing powder (I used Ben Nye’s Visage Powder in Banana), and used Sigma Beauty’s stippling brush and gently pat the powder on to prevent the concealer from settling into fine lines, or getting oily/shiny later on.

here are perhaps many methods people use when foiling their pigments or mineral eyeshadows; there really is no right or wrong way, just whichever method works for you. Why apply them wet? Applying your pigments or mineral eyeshadows wet intensifies the color, making it look so much more vibrant as well as lasting longer as oppose to it dry, giving you a look that lasts all day!

For this demonstration, I am using MAC Pigment in “Your Ladyship”, I will use more vivid colors in another post to show the difference but this was the only pigment I had on me!

Row- Yeah I know a lot of girls who use Visine or other form of eye drops and I have used it myself and works pretty well! I haven’t noticed a huge difference, when a pigment is dry it’s a bit more gritty and lighter in color, when wet it’s a lot more vibrant, shiny, and smoother in texture.

Nilla- Yeah a lot of gals use water and eyedrops, I say whichever works! I tried them all and they all do the job, but for some reason with water it becomes sorta runny at the end of the day. 😦

Comparison of DRY vs. WET, although ‘dry’ looks more intense here, it’s really not (it was a sparkly white in person), as you can see when applied ‘wet’ you can see more of the goldish cream undertones as well as shimmer….

Take some pigment off from the cap, this should be a good amount (or put some on the other side of the storage container):

Apply to your eyelid in pat and dab motions to prevent streaks, let it dry, add more if necessary to intensify color and coverage:

Revlon Strawberry Shortcake ColorBurst Lip Butter dupe$7:. MAC Dress It Up is slightly less blue-based. MAC Behave Yourself is just a tinge pinker. MAC All Styled Up is
similar but doesn’t have shimmer.

This lip color would be lovely on cooler skin tones or paired with a really warm eye and cheek combination. It’s more opaque than Revlon describes, which may be a good or bad thing, depending on what you’re looking for. As with other shades in the Lip Butter range, wear time can be an issue.

is a bright, fuchsia-pink with iridescent purple-fuchsia shimmer and cool, blue undertones. It’s similar to MAC Show Orchid, which is brighter.NARS Schiap is a little brighter and has no shimmer.

TEXTURE :10/10

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters are definitely one of the best mass lipsticks on the market right now–the only downsides to Lollipop were its shorter wear time and that it was too pigmented (based on how Revlon positioned the product)–but at least the latter may be a bonus for some.

Revlon Cotton Candy ColorBurst Lip Butter:

Chanel Charme has a similar pink color but doesn’t have the golden shimmer. Guerlain Rose Innocent is a bit lighter, more opaque, and doesn’t have any gold shimmer. MAC Fabby has more mauve in its base color. MAC Behave Yourself has a similar base color, perhaps a little more lilac.

TEXTURE :10/10

The real downside to products with as much slip and creaminess as the Lip Butters is the wear time–and while some of the shades have been better than others, this shade really wore off quickly. If you don’t mind reapplying often, it’s worth checking out!

5 Fantastic Coral-Pink Blushes

If you’re not enamored of corals as much as I am, you may lump them all together as “coral,” but there is a definite distiction between a coral-pink and a coral-orange (and to an extent, coral-red!). There are corals that pull pinker, so they appear less warm, peach, and orange on the skin tone, while there are corals that pull warmer, so they appear redder, more orange, and peachier.

  1. Tarina Tarantino Parasol — shimmering coral-pink with a champagne shimmer-sheen
  2. NARS Orgasm — classic pink base with golden sheen that translates to a pink-coral
  3. theBalm Frat Boy — coral pink with just a faint sheen
  4. MAC Posey — pink-coral cream blush
  5. Tarte Glisten — medium-dark pink base color with a golden sheen

I tested out 3 popular drugstore brand glosses:Maybelline’s SuperStay 24 Color in Blush On, Revlon’s ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor in Neverending Nude, and L’Oreal’s Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour in Hibiscus.

Maybelline: 9/10
This gloss did a great job staying on all day. It withstood eating, drinking, and talking. I only had to re-apply the chapstick 2-3 times and that was mostly to give my lips moisture, not to keep the color on.

Revlon: 5/10
This gloss applied similar to the other two, but as the day wore on, it cracked and flaked. I tried to re-apply gloss to smooth out the flakes, but it didn’t help. The flaking looked so bad after a couple of hours that I tried to remove the color all together, but it wouldn’t come off even with scrubbing. It wasn’t until I got back home and could use an oil-based remover that I got it off. So, in terms of staying power, this gloss is great–it won’t budge. But the weird flaking it caused was frustrating and unattractive. The caking and flaking was so weird that I thought I must not have exfoliated my lips properly. So I tried again the next day, but the same thing happened (admittedly not as badly). The gloss also has an off-putting smell, but you can’t really smell it after it’s applied.

L’Oreal: 9/10
This gloss did a great job staying on all day, much like Maybelline’s gloss. It withstood eating, drinking, and talking. I only had to re-apply the chapstick 2-3 times and that was mostly to give my lips moisture, not to keep the color on. The color faded only very slightly on the innermost part of the lips (closest to the teeth).

Ease of Use

With all of these glosses, you first apply the color side and wait at least 1 full minute for it to dry. The gloss will feel tacky and drying at the same time. You’ll then apply the chapstick or clear gloss on top of the color.

Maybelline: 9/10
Applying is simple. The slanted doe-foot applicator lets you get precise application and the chapstick is easy to apply on top.

Revlon: 8.5/10
This applies the same as the other two, except that you have to go back and do multiple applications because the applicators for both the color and gloss are small.

L’Oreal: 9/10
Applying is simple. The slanted doe-foot applicator lets you get precise application and the chapstick is easy to apply on top.

Maybelline: 9/10
You get 0.077 fl oz of color for about $8. Of the 3 glosses, you get the most for your money with Maybelline.

Revlon: 9/10
You get 0.07 fl oz of color for $8.

L’Oreal: 8.5/10
You get 0.077 fl oz of color for $10. This is the most expensive of the 3 glosses.

Makeup is after all just play with lights and shadows, and to use lighter shades to bring certain
spots up more than others, and other points are made darker, so that they look like they’re deeper.

My highlight spots are in the inner corner of the eye, in the middle of the lid, and on the brow bone.

Different eyeshadow shapes:

There are countless ways how you can use your shadows, by mixing different colors, different textures,
and glitters, but here’s some ideas were to apply your makeup’s darkest shade:

 Inner corner:

You can add darker shadow only to inner corner of your lid, which seems reduce the space between the eyes.

 Outer corner:

If your eyes are close to each other, this may make them look further away from each other.
I have used this often, even though I don’t think I have close-set eyes, so I think this suits for other eye
types too.

Both corners:

I think this one is great for everyone,  it can be easily used in both dramatic looks with bold
colors, and with natural everyday looks with neutral colors. It doesn’t make
eyes look wider or smaller, and I think it suits for all eye types.

Outer corner, “catshape”:

Make eye look a bit tilted upwards, which creates a bit mysterious look. Also, if your lids
are bit droopy, this might bring them the “boost” they need.

Outer corner & crease, blended upwards:

This is my own favourite.
Darker shadow is applied to outer  corner and crease, then blended up towards the brow, where it
meets the highlighter, and blends together with it.

This is also good technique if you have hooded eyes, just extend the shadows so that they show up a bit.

This technique can make your eyes  appear wider, and your lid “longer”.

Whole inner part:

This one isn’t for everyone, it easily makes you look angry, or your eyebrows look too heavy.
But you might want to try it, maybe with lighter colors.

 Just crease:

With dark color neatly on the crease you can deepen your crease a lot, make your
eyes look more deeper. If you add some light color to your lid, your lid looks bigger.

 Whole lid:

Depending on the color your using, this might be the most dramatic of these styles.
Be careful if you use bright colors, especially if you don’t want to draw too much attention to your eyes.

Please remember, that everyone has different eye shape, head shape, nose shape, and that all affects one way or the other to the makeup.
So don’t get depressed if some makeup style doesn’t fit you, just move on to the next style. Eventually you’ll find your own!
